How to create an app download QR code

A smart app download QR code is the same device-aware routing as a short link, in scannable form. Here is how to set one up.

How to create an app download QR code

Step 1

Create a smart link first

A dynamic QR code encodes a short link, so start by making one AnyLinks link with your App Store, Google Play, and fallback destinations.

Step 2

Download the QR

Generate a QR image from that link. Because the code points to a link you control, you can change where it goes later without reprinting.

Step 3

Print and track

Put the QR on posters, packaging, or a display. Scanning on iPhone opens the App Store, on Android opens Google Play. Track scans and clicks by device in the dashboard.

Questions

Do I need a different QR for each store?

No. One smart QR routes iPhone to the App Store and Android to Google Play automatically.

Can I change the destination after printing?

Yes. Because the QR encodes a link you manage, you update the destination in the dashboard and the printed code keeps working.

One store link. Never an ad.
